About PixelShrinkr
PixelShrinkr is a batch image compressor and resizer that runs in your browser. Drop a folder of photos, choose a format, quality and size, and download the results one by one or as a ZIP. It reads JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF, writes JPEG, PNG, WebP or AVIF, and shows a live before/after comparison for the file you select.
Nothing is uploaded. Decoding and encoding use the browser's own image codecs through the Canvas and OffscreenCanvas APIs, inside Web Workers so the page never freezes. There are no accounts, no analytics and no third-party scripts; once the page has loaded, the tool works with the network switched off.
It is built and maintained by Interhive OÜ, a small studio in Tallinn that makes tiny, dependable web tools.
What it does
- Batch processing
Hundreds of files in one queue, encoded by up to four Web Workers in parallel, with a status, a retry and a remove button on every row.
- Formats
Keep the original format or convert to JPEG, PNG, WebP or AVIF. AVIF is offered only where the browser can encode it, which the tool detects on load.
- Resizing
Cap the width and height, scale by percent, or fit every image under a target size in kilobytes by searching quality first and dimensions second.
- Metadata and transparency
EXIF, GPS and colour-profile tags are dropped by default, with the orientation baked into the pixels. Alpha in PNG and WebP survives unless you choose to flatten it.
